Trekking Through the Bible in 2012
Beginning New Year's Day 2012, we (as a church) will launch a monumental task: Reading and systematically studying every verse in the Bible in one calendar year. This is a monumental task not because it has never been done, but because it is vitally important for every soul created in the image of God to know "the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). Just look around us at the landscape of Christendom, and you will very clearly see the damage that has been done by teachers who have merely plucked out passages and have subsequently filtered those passages through their own pre-conceived notions (most of us have been guilty of this at one time or another).
The goal of this endeavor from the very outset will be the cultivation of our spiritual maturity as individuals, families, and as a community of Christians. To put it in the words of Scripture, we are undertaking this task "so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes" (Ephesians 4:14).
Every individual will be supplied detailed weekly study guides and the weekly Bible reading plan. The Bible readings for that week will be the basis for the sermon on the following Sunday each week. We hope you will be able to join us for this thrilling journey through the word of God as we search for answers about life, and the life that is to come ...
Two New Study Pamphlets FREE For The Asking
We've just received a box full of some really well-done pamphlets dealing with two important Bible topics. "A New Look at the Old Rugged Cross" looks at the events and people surrounding the cricifixion of Jesus. "Shall We Gather At The River?" explores the role of baptism as it is set forth in the Bible. Both of these pamphlets take an honest approach to Scripture and would serve any Bible student well. If you live in the Republic of Ireland and would like to receive one or both of these titles, simply send us an email with your address, and we will be happy to post one to you straightaway. Also be sure to have a look at the free self-paced Bible study courses we offer.

Different Venue for Worship on the 25th of December, 2011

All-Ireland Rally For Life 2011 (2 July, 2011)
From the Youth Defence website:
"This summer, the most important date on the pro-life calendar is 2nd July. That’s when we hope you join with thousands of others to speak up for the right to life.
Ireland - north and south - is one of the last remaining places in Europe where abortion is still illegal. But our unborn children are under threat. Powerful pro-abortion campaigners in Ireland, the UK, European Union and United Nations are attacking our pro-life laws. That’s why it’s so important we show our opposition to abortion. On 2nd July 2011 lets do that!"
The Galway church of Christ will be sending a group to Dublin for this important event. If you would like to ride along and be a part of this effort, please send us an email to let us know. Additionally, if you would like to know more about our convictions on this issue, please do not hesitate to contact us.
